O filme Boyhood lidera as indicações aos Gotham Independent Film Awards 2014, com quatro nomeações. Este ano o júri votou ainda para um prêmio especial a Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo e Channing Tatum pelo seu trabalho como elenco de atores de Foxcatcher. Os vencedores serão conhecidos em 1 de Dezembro. Em 2013, o filme vencedor foi Inside Llewyn Davis.
